Protesters opposing Republican president-elect Donald Trump gathered on Nov 11. 2016 at the Boston Common.
The event, known as “Love Trumps Hate” is a series of non-violent, nationwide protests promoting the rights of minorities, immigrants, and women, and denouncing Donald Trump’s campaign retoric.
“It was a peaceful event, everyone was really energetic. It was an enjoyable afternoon of singing, linking each other’s hands, and chanting lines such as ‘not my president, my body my rights, what is democracy? we are democracy!’ and more,” said Deniz Dutton, a Belmont High School student.
Protesters were satisfied with the outcome of their peaceful intensions, as the rally was disrupted by only one Trump supporter.
